October 21 1976 pretty cool , How many poachers did they catch I wonder. Great to see this thread come back to life.

Mike's old challenger with a 2.4 and a lot of seat time , the best they got was right at 80. The Knight hawk boat with twin 2.4's I heard was mid 80's. The best I got was low 70's when the motor was new. That was before we were running any kind of gps.

I hung a second 200 Johnson on my challenger in 78 and ran it to 76 on its best day !
however they were hung on the transom ,with cleavers
no jacks and no setback . The tech knowledge was showing up about the time we hit a runabout with no lights on it coming home from kismet in the middle of the night . That was the end of twins

who is this? J Brophy?
When I bought the challenger (Moisture MIssile) off of Dave at Vans Auto Body.... we took the 2.4 off and put a Mod Vp from George on it... with a hand held garmin we got 83's solid tickled 84 but wouldnt hang there....... I still own the last Mazco that did it. ... Boat was incredible in the rough and I wish I had it now for Class 7... It would be perfect.
Thanks Fullers Marine Best in the Business..
