Thats because Allison invented the pad. haha Most boats dont have a lip aka {pencil roll}. its a key factor on any Allison to get the flat look while on the pad. It forces the bow down while lifting the stern up. The shape of the hull is all built around that pad. Very ingenious.

What year did they first build a pad hull? 1966/67 the same year as CHRYSLER patened the Hydro-Vee Delta Pad hull.

Yes 67 is correct. Well at least thats when the patent was excepted for a vee hull. The Deep vee hull pad was in 68. 69 was the year a vee hull consumer production pleasure boat first broke 100 mph. It was a 18ft Allison with twin 125,s.
Tomorrow is the big day for the new 2016 XR2002 deliveries. There will be a few more pad shots coming from those bad boys soon i hope!
