what size jack plate for a hydrostream vegas v hull?
Depends on your goals... To carry a heavy driver/passenger, 8" or maybe even 10". To drag race, or to enjoy faster planing and less Low-speed porpoising, or especially if you have enough power to push thru the midrange to where natural aero lift takes over, requiring less trim and COG lift, 6" might be enough, particularly if the hull is lightweight.
Let's see some pics russ
the motor in the pic isn't mine and I getting another jackplate then what's on it now It's got a 6 inch on it now .the pic isn't of me in the boatAttachment 312108Attachment 312109it's not a heavy boat and I'm not a big person ..........175 pounds...got a ProMax 225 going on it
Love that boat!
Promax should move it pretty good!
runs 83/84 with the stock 200
Need to try a drag 4 with the p max
got one of these..............Attachment 312123
Nice to see someone picked that up. I saw it for sale for a while and seemed like a good deal...should scoot for sure.
and a little more room than the Vking
Good friend of mine had one and ran a 10" I was just about right. The only issue was although his boat appeared very solid the transom and bottom made him nervous.Id stick with 6 to lesson the stress a bit, adding more HP should counter any speed loss difference. His did not porpoise at all that I remember.
Lighter huh?
I bet it's lighter than the thunderstream i had
