Oh My GOD ! Not OMG because looking at those pictures needed the full wording of OMG!! That is some seriously sick quality looking assembly for the back of any boat!! My hats off to Caldwell for anticipating this need and acting on it! Im like wetting my self right now that is so beautiful haha! What can ya say theirs no words to describe the performance a motor like this will have on most of our lighter hulls like STV,Allison,Mirage,Progression, Talon, Tuff just to name a few...Not to mention the HIGH QUALITY look. SWEET!! You would need a stout 260/280 or a very nice but getting very rare S3000 to match whats going on hear.. The refinement is very appealing to me.
Could pick up gearcase from seven marine and put a 2 speed f-n-r lenko in the mid
Then either single prop or duo prop
Fatten it up in a few key areas with high perf style internals and the durability could match or exceed a sportmaster. So much easier to go fast with an XR case, even if you didn't buy a CRT engine an XR style case with machined in nose cone that actually holds up would be awesome to bolt on to a 280 or 300 Drag.
All powerhead studs look to be same length what a great idea much simpler
Matthew has done a Outstands job at creating a Masterpiece. It has Blood Sweat and Tears behind it not to mention the investment. Machining this from a Solid Billet has been a challenge to say the least and Matthew has refused to accept NO for a answer (that it couldn't be done) because we have had plenty of machine shops tell us that. But Matthew proved them wrong and continued to keep pushing and trying new thing and improving each time to give his customers a better product. For those of you that do not know Matthew Caldwell from the time his feet hit the ground till the time he just pass out asleep he is eating and breathing TWO STROKE!!! CRT really appreciates all the kind words and interest about the engines when you have one sitting on your transom it will have been worth the wait!!!
Thank You it is a work of art!!! As of today we are working with different organization to get the engine accepted in and ready to race.
random curious question: Whats the powerhead bolt pattern going to be on the larger engines? I know the 2.5 is the same as the Merc 2.5, but what about the others-like a Merc 3.0/3.2? Evinrude 3.3? Just curious
CRT 3.5 is the same bolt pattern other than the back two holes is a 1" further back and 1/2" wider. So it will not fit the 3.0 or 3.2 Mercury or the 3.3 Evinrude.
I guess the aft 2 have to come back as the exhaust has to get bigger for big ci engines
Yes Sir that is correct Bigger CI needs more room...
