Jon rolled in today:thumbsup:
Well its the first time in 5 years but it looks like were not going to make the best race on the planet. But just wanted to say good luck to all the outboards and be sure to take lots of pics and vids.
Hardy/clamponracing
I hear about lots of breakout runs during qualifying, and Bill and Mike couldnt slow down enough and will race second chance
Bob (BP) has Smokin Joe first round tommorrow for the big money
I am pulling my Pom Poms out for my left coast homies
GO #298
Bp is in the semis with two other jets and Chapmen being the only outboard left for the 8 second class
GO BP:)
You earned it BP298 CONGRATS
had a feeling it was gonna be your year
Have a safe 1500 mile tow home,the $3K should help with that...LOL
Congrats BP this was your year!
This year,,, There were 35 boats in the 8's trying to Qualify for the top 16,,, And the Next 8 spots for Second Chance! 11 Boat's were spectator's on Sunday! :nonod:
To make the top 16 you had to run an 8.06 or better (8.088 did not make the cut)!!!!!!!!!! To make second chance you had to have a 8.25 or better!
There were 104 boats total,,,,,, and Ken Dollar with LUCAS OIL was there adding Contingency money's to the pot!!!!!!!!! And maybe looking at the race for next year????
WOW , Just got back this afternoon. Man NEVER seen SOO many double O's in my life .. Those guys were dialed in ...Congrads to all the winners. IMO the guys that even made it into the field are all winners...
Also congrads to Rocket and Jim Brinkley, its AMAZING how much weight had to be added to the boat to slow it down and make it run the numbers. ( 175 lbs ) Great job for WINNING the 8.00 second chance race using their new JSRE power head...
Well back to the salt mines, and the heat and humidity, like to froze Sunday evening during finals...
Jay
Jay thank for building us a Motor that REQUIRES adding 183 lbs of weight just to slow down to the 8's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it starts like a Freak'n 4-Stoke Fishing motor too!!!
I only wish we could race it a time or two more this season! :D
the Bubble for the first 8's was 8.060 and a 8.088 DID NOT MAKE it!!!!!!! WE did make the 2nd chance though!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ran 7.84 twice and then a 7.994 with 125lbs of weight added........... after adding 183 lbs we FINALLY ran a 8.070!!!!!!!!!!!!! And WON!
WOW what a MOTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh,, we don't really fit in with the kind of racing the BYUBOYZ race.... (We've both been there and Done that.) I did hear that Travis Tuttle went to Mt Pleasant a couple of weeks ago,,, and handed the Unlimited boys a good woop'n! If DSRA or ODBA ever get's a set of Timing lights (Start line & finish line),,,, I'm sure Jim and I might Donate a little to a race or three! ;) There are a lot of GREAT racers that Race with ODBA & DSRA!
