Hi guys so far its proven that the Raker(original) has been the best prop for top end but I was wondering if there is anything else out there which might offer even more top end?
Thanks!

A Tempest Plus- I ran Raker 1 in 22 pitch vs Tempest Plus in 21 pitch on my Opti 150 just to see how they compared. RPM was nearly the same, Tempest Plus had an extra 1 mph. Of course, these results will be different for each specific rig, but in my opinion, they are very comparable props..... but on my rig the Tempest Plus ran quicker.

thats like asking if there is anything out there faster than a stock chevy 1/2 ton truck off the dealer lot :)
What type of boat do you have?
On some boats a Raker is very hard to beat. For example a stock 28 Raker pushed my Lavey 82mph, on the same day a 29" SRX DAH went 84mph. 2 mph more on a very good reworked prop.
Power Techs new RKR 3 blade (after some cup is added) is awfully fast!! (rkr is a cross between a raker and txp)
The Turbo TXP is good too. (similar to a pro series)
still hard to beat a good original Raker and a Tempest is also a great prop.
What's a pro series? Is that what they call a 'yam drag'
no.. the pro series, or also know as the M or M1 or M2 is a thru hub prop like the tempest.
the yam drag is a DRAG prop. :) chopper style. that's what i run. ;)
Thanks Steve, Who makes the 'pro series' Ive never heard of them!
What kind of different characteristics does the yam drag have in comparison to the tempest or raker?
yamaha/turbo makes the pro series.
drag props and bass style props are completely different creatures.
the raker and pro series are similar in geometry.
the tempest is harder metal and are my favorite other than the turbo txp's
Hey Steve,
the 3 bladed TXP or the 4 blade OT TXP? (are you talking about?)
the 3 blades are easier to turn.
Ive tried yam drag & choppers but they are just really flightly! are they quicker than the tempests and rakers though?
The RKR Power Tech like the TXP turbo was a long hub / hub tube . On both the TXP and RKR the long hub is not flared at the opening. Both the RKR and TXP have great lift. The high rake angle lifts the bow and the long hub tube helps with stern lift. The whole hull will lift with these raker type props. The Yamaha Pro series has great bow lift but wont lift the whole hull as much as the RKR & TXP will. I have ran all three of these props on my 18 HPX Maverick and my go to prop is the RKR power tech that Steve from Steves custom props has worked. The RKR came with adjustable Merc type vents to fine tune the hole shot. I hope this information helps. Joe Raimondo
