Wow in your signature!!!!!!! You have a fast Checkmate boy for a 200.... No joke, really?
89.1 on the trailer down the hwy.
Sure you can pull it at 89.1! But can you slow it down safely or maintain control if you have to make some type of avoidance/emergency manuver? I hope so.....PH
I had a freind that would haul tractors with a camaro. Power and breaks were not an issue. But he's lucky he never got 'turned around' by that set-up.
Anyway, how do you like your Eluder? I have an I/O Eluder (470 Mercruiser) that I would like to convert to an outboard.
lol.. there was no traffic on the interstate when i was pulling it @ almost 90... lol i like the eluder a lot, this is my 2nd one i have owned.
Did you wreck the first one on the interstate?
I've never said it ;)

That is awsome. Do you get funny looks all the time too?
there's certainly the argument to be made that the bigger, heavier and more powerful the tow vehicle, the better, in case you have to make a sudden stop... er, or something. in which case, you'd be nuts to tow your 189 lb CR125 motocross motorcycle with anything less than a 1-ton diesel dualie. can't be too safe, right?
dispensing with the ridiculous, there is something to be said about the safety margin built into the rated towing rating of the vehicle doing the towing. as crazy as we are about frivolous lawsuits and legal liability in this country, i have to think that whatever weight the vehicle manufacturer specifies for towing has _plenty_ of safety margin built into it, else they get their asses sued to hell and back every time there's a towing mishap.
BTW, check this vid for a tiiight towing package setup. the tow vehicle weighs about 5000 lbs, and the vehicle being towed, combined with the trailer, weighs about the same.

Yep, sure do! Especially rolling around town with it. Had a big dodge diesel try to race me one time on the freeway when I was pulling my hydrostream voyager, they seemed to like it! I just use the car for local pulls, anything else she goes behind the dodge. Not that the car wouldn't do it, but the truck gets better mileage, lol!

I hear you. thats all i use my integra for is local pulls myself. i live about a 15 minute drive from old hickory lake. i have pulled it a couple hours to center hill lake. When i bought it i picked it up in the st.louis area, so i have pulled it from there to nashville with the car... i just picked up a 96 dodge dakota for tow duties last week. It was cheap and now i can focus on extracting more h.p. from my car.
Been there ,done dat
