How about comments about the most bang for the buck. What is the best retail price for a 300 pro max and its performance vs the cost and performance of some other choice (2.5 ???). I am looking at similar issues with a different hull. Thanks
Thats a great point. I too am weighing the I/O--- O/B thing. It seems that the 300 Promax is the Hi/Per. engine of choice right now.
alpharacer1, do you have a 22 activator now?
no i dont have on as of yet but i think that is the hull that i want i like the design the price is in my budget and there really doesnt seem to be too many real complaints about it here.... any help as always greatly appreciated
From what I have learned you can buy (new) 2- 200hp carb engines for less than the cost of 1- 300 pro max (or 3-200's for way less than 2- 300 PM's) Any guesses as to what the performance differences would be?
22- 300 promax 85 mph !
Hello i went from a 3.4 L 300hp merc to a 225 honda on a 21 sleekcraft v bottom the honda out performs the merc all around plus no more smoke and no oil to mix the weight is about 10 pounds more than the merc
Now put a 300 promax or 300x on that boat and you will be turning that Honda in for scrap Aluminum.Quote:

HAHAHAHAH 35cents a pound for scrap , motor probally weighs 500lbs . its worth $175.00 on the open market !!! hahahahahahahahaha
It goes with out saying you have never driven a boat with a honda 225. it doesent make the most power or weigh the least . but it is a great motor. better than any small bore 200 o 225 merc i have ever ran. the mid rang power is great.
Actually I have driven a boat with a 225 Honda. It was on a 20 foot Charger bass boat, and I thought that it was a stone slug coming out of the hole. Mid range was decent but top end it ran out of balls again. I would take a 225 pro max over it any day.
Just my opinion
