Yep
When he came to the first Rumble, I was just getting serious about going fast. Ronnie was light yrs ahead of me. He popped a powerhead there, spent 5 mins being pissed then dove into replacing it w/a spare that he brought.
Told him he just taught me something cuz I would have let it ruin my whole weekend.
Learned that if you push your motor, it's going to happen.
Oh yeah, his spare powerhead?? Was in a box in bed of his truck.
Box was marked, "DANGER, LIVE SNAKES!"
And he changed the p.head w/a hoist mounted to bed of truck.
From the mind of Ronnie....
Truck tailgates make good work benches.

Tt was the motor in the truck that I had to change. Crankshaft gave up after 200000 miles. Crank was broken in half when I took it apart when we got home. Still ran connecting rods on that jornal held the crank together. Put a jasper rebuild in. What a piece of crap that was. With a hoist from walmart. olny took about 4 hours for the whole job. Nick If you look at Gregs pics you can see the old motor in the bed of the truck.
Yeah Gary thats how it goes> sucks the the powerhead I took off I had just built it. I made the tuneup too hot that day and I screwed it up . It was my first steel drag sleeve conversion motor. it was extremly fast for a carb motor(ask Yammer) The live snake thing was my buddy idea. I just bought that powerhead from Chad Hill and just got it the day were leaving for Kentucky. Didn't even have time to look mat it just threw it in the truck and left.
Busted a crank in a SB olds once. Shut it down right away, what a noise. Replaced it with a 330 crank. Amazing it got you home.
I'll say it again that brown looks great
It didnt make it home made it to the next exit and wouldnt go any more changed it behind the gas station on the interstate

Wow, now i know the story of “that” Viper. I watched that vid and some of Eddie P’s a hundred times over the years. I had also seen that mangled up one somewhere someone posted it as an example of what happens when you dont recore a stream. Until today i had no freakin idea it was “that” Viper. Ronnie my hat goes off to you for that legendary rig, and a thank you for bumping this today. Just amazing
