Hi, I am new to the forum. Just wanted to introduce my self. I have been in the boat industry for over 35 years and know a great deal about outboards and boats. Question: just how prevalent is the exhaust corrosion problem with the Yamaha four strokes? I've been hearing more and more about this.

We have seen exhaust corrosion on the power head side as well as the adapter housing. The saltwater of course has a profound impact on this but with proper flushing and maintenance it helps dramatically slow down this problem. Our address is 3465 old palm city school avenue, palm city, fl , 34990 .

I think you'll find that these guys know quite a bit about boats on this site too ... thats what makes it nice .. everybody pretty much fields questions that they have first hand experience in.
