Gears for 1250 SuperBP

Has anyone looked into the cost of having a small run of newly machined gears .If anyone has any idea on the cost of cutting a few gears please post. Did Mercury Marine make their own gears or farm them out to a gear manufacter?If they outsourced them does anyone know the company?I checked on google and there are lots of machine shops making these type of gears.I'm interested in the pinion and propshaft gears for the 1250 Super BP.If anyone else needs the same gears let me know and I'll see if I can arrange for a small run.

Merc made some of the gears themselves and farmed some out.

Prints & spec's for the more popular and more common Quicksliver gears have been released and they have been reproduced at about $400 a set in quanity of 50 sets.

For the BP, I would not be surprized to be quoted $2,500 or more per set for a low run of 10 or 12 sets - and I do not know of that many people looking for gears.
