When I raced a little Mod-vp there were not any around. I just found out a guy is splashing one and I am considering purchasing 1 for the superstock class. I think the boat used for the plug is in the class now and runs pretty good. anyones opinion on these boats would be appreciated. thanks, the gun

If I remeber correctly Vision Craft really started coming on strong toward the end of the Mod-VP days. There is one running in Super Sport right now that I know of. I think it was Glenn Renoylds that was running them before Mod-VP went kaput. Would like to know anything you find out and who is building the boats you're talking about.

The VisionCraft Boats were designed by the late Ricky Comer of Georgetown TX. He had run Seebold Warrior hulls in MOD-VP and later built the Vision Craft to continue his career in MOD VP. It was actually in a Vision Craft that he was killed in the early 1992 at Cedar Creek Lake just outside of Dallas Tx. I had heard rumors of who got the molds to the Vision Craft and I heard everything from Allison Boats getting them to them still sitting in a storage building in Georgetown. They were a pretty good running boat and handled rough water very well, or so I remember....

The best I remember there is a fellow by the name of Danny Kendrick in south Tx that is building a version of the Vision Craft under the DL Performance Name.

I believe Glenn Reynolds has the real molds, If you want the real thing.

That's correct. I spoke with Glenn the other day and he is aware of the splasher. He's irate - as can be expected - as he is willing to build boats out of the molds if needed.

I think the Allison rumor came about because if my memory serves me, when Glenn first got the molds he kept them over there and they may have actually built boats there for awhile. I don't think the molds are still at Allison though.

As for their performance, they were one of the best during the ModVP heyday. I just got information on a beautiful one for sale. I'll have it up on the scaryfast.com website this weekend.

I think DL is a splash of the Vision. I thought Glen Reynolds has the original molds. I heard they were using Mike Fjelds Vision for the latest Splash of that boat somewhere up north.

My advice would be to call Jack Barsh at Full Throttle Powerboats and talk to him about one of his boats.. He's a racer in SS and his boats and drivers are winning most of the SS races..

His boats are of excellent quality and he's very supportive to his boat owners in anything they need long after the sale...

FTP/QuaterShot 904-354-4228.. Ask for Jack!

Thanks..

It goes without saying splashing has it issues.... :(

I've been asking around and what I was told is you might as well splash a stream because, they are both yesterdays technology. The boat does run good in the class today but has not won a race. D. Macdowell even has 1 and he chooses to race his eagle-one.I think I'll wait and see or I will try to find a deal on a motor and get a quartershot. Not to mention getting in the middle of a splash situation. Thanks for the replies. Gun out!

As far as Glenn Reynold goes...... He was inquired about making a boat for a guy. However his head is so far up.......... that his reply was "maybe if you order 10 I'll think about it" So if he is upset that someone is splashing a vision than he should have thought about the ramifacations before being so erogant. To continue... Now that were on the subject.....Glenn Reynold is NOT a supporter of the new SS class because we refuse to allow rule changes in his favor (go figure). He will not become part of any racing venue that his doesn't have an edge. I personal hope that your reading this Glenn cause nothing would make me happier than for you to prove me wrong. SO BRING IT THE @#$%&^*( ON and this time the BIRD will have the same hp and it will be up to driver skill instead of that last fubar race.

Mike Fjeld's Vision runs very good. It seems to excell in rough water and it turns well. Donnie's Vision is his spare boat and I don't think it has been dialed in. Big gun if you are seriously considering a Q-shot you need to order soon. Jack is very busy and has a waiting list to get in the mold. If you want to race this season order soon.
