When I was much younger I bought my first brand new boat,a 1963 Glasspar G-3 with the first year merc 100 short shaft. Do you ever wish you could re-live those things? Your first boat, your first car, your first love? Thanks to T2x and John Sherlock,I bought a totally restored 1963 G-3. Doesn't matter if it it has the wrong engine,I found the right 100 Merc to put on it. I have 3 very high dollar boats in my boathouse (they belong to the bank) :p But guess what boat I will finish out my summer in? Sometimes you just have to go back to your roots to really have fun.Wish I could post pics, but I am too old to know how  In 1963 I paid $895 for the boat,$995 for the motor, and $200 for the trailer. Times have changed, but not my passion for the older stuff. Robert

Actually my wife can post photos but I don't actually have the boat yet. We are going to get it in NY this week. I bought it sight unseen cause I trust T2x. He said it was very nice, that's good enough for me. Will get photos up soon.

Picking it up Friday, will try to post pics next week. I am excited about this old, outdated boat with the wrong motor( that will be corrected),Karen has even harsher things to say about it,but I don't care, your first boat is like your first lover, except you can't get your first lover back after 42 years, but with luck, you can get the boat. :p

You may be able to get both your old boat and old lover back, but then again would you really want to?

Good luck and send some pics in!

Glad someone trusts T2X!!!! :D

The red boat is like mine, unfortunately my driver had problems and will have to pick the boat up later. But that's ok,it gives us more time to get the period correct in-line 6 ready :p

The 1250 may not be 'period correct' but the original gelcoat is. ;)

Melissa, there must be a story here that I hope you will share :) And,John, first order of business on the G-3 is remove that "wrong" motor, can't believe you would have allowed that ,but I will fix it. Haven't seen you in many, many years,we raced SJ in the 70's,white/black stripe Kitson,red/white stripe Kitson,Blue McCall, white Checkmate ,drivers were Bobby Quinn and Jim Bain, always # 826. I hope to add a pic or two but I'm not sure if I can. I Got this boat this May in MN, I trailered it back to IN and spent 3 months restoring the hull....It had small trees growing out of the floor and green moss coming out of the transum...in alot of places......what was I thinking...........But it turned out pretty well
its a 1965 glasspar g3 with a 76 85hp Merc,badged as a 67 65hp,all in red epoxy,Running a mazco 14x22 chopper,2 small bucket seats...not cheep fishing chairs...lol
It has not been gps'd but its in the lower 50s in a light chop, in heavy lake chop its a flying G3 for sure, but it turns like nothing I have ever owned before....flat and wide...lotts of G force lettin ya know your haven fun...

Get that ol G in the water with that 100hp inline and you will remember things you have forgotten forever ago....
