Speedmaster Question

I Recently Bought A Mc-1 Speedmaster. What Gears Ratios Were Available For This Gearcase. Mine Is 1:1. Will The Super Speedmaster Props Fit?

Speedmaster props will fit as long as they're the old SSM's, NOT the current #4's or 6's.


I've heard claims that the MC1's were available in 14:15 also (the SSM's were available both ways) but if so, I've never seen one. Also, I've never seen a leftie MC1. They're pretty durable units though. I have several of em and have run one of em on a 300 drag.

Mine is a right hand. I bought it to run on my stacker. It came from a drag racer. I got 1 prop with it but it has been reworked so not sure of the pitch yet. Thanks

I'm certain the MC-1 SSM only came right and 1:1 .... because as a Mercruiser unit behind an inboard with a transmission ... you could have either rotation and any gear ratio with no cost penalty in the inboard transmission
