Can Anyone Provide Pictures Of The Old Inline Power Trim For Racing(not With Power Tilt). I Remember It Had The 2 Cylinders On Each Side(not The Thru Transom Trim). Thanks

I have a better shot of the cylinders someplace. This is a scan from the Merc catalog. The last set of cylinders I saw for sale was on Ebay, Of course. There was a couple of us watchin them but they got out of my price range fast. I should have photos from that auction on a disk.

Thanks, any pics you have would help. If I can't find them, I will try to duplicate them from pics.

Most early inlines used thrust brackets not trim (APBA racing). The later SJ then JP classes did eventually go to trim but many JP and other V-bottoms were faster with the thrust brackets. In JP you used the stock trim rams like the pleasure boats. Later we were allowed to make or buy "Petty brackets" Which allowed the stock trim rams to be mounted at right angle to the transom.
The T2 and T2X used a small trim ram mounted at right angle to the transom. Both used standard trim pumps and motors although most set the up for 24V.

I don't know about the J boats but I do know that in most cases the E and G class OPC boats were very sensitive to trim angle. Use of a thrust bracket enabled precise setting of motor angle which is almost impossible with power trim. Thrust brackets also compensated for the weakness in the stock motor mounts and swivel pins of those motors which would often fail quickly when run hard without a thrust bracket.

I had the thru transom single ram on my T-2's. My JP boat ran dealer added trim. I just am looking for some pics or maybe even the factory system to add the the look of an old motor I am redoing. Thanks

A picture of the ram and the mounting brackets would be helpful. Any info I can get to try to duplicate this type of trim. They seem to be about non-existant to find the trim systems. Thanks

I can give you a pic, they're gonna be hard to copy though. The problem is they are not mounted at each end. They are mounted at the end of the ram and the center of the cylinder body.

This first pictue that Jason posted is from Gary MacNorius's Switzer/XS. Note the above stud mounting. The next picture is Spreadeagle's Carlson/Twister and they are mounted below.
If anyone has a set of them they would part with, I,m interested.

I have been looking for a set also. I thought I came across a set this week but turned into deadend!
