Have posted in other categories with no results so will try here.

In the late 60's-early 70's Mercury marketed a side mount shift control for race outboards that was called a "stackable shift control ". One unit was used for each engine so as many was used as you had motors. All it did was shift the gearcase--no electrics or throttle---no safety features.

My number 1 priority is to acquire one of these units. If I cannot buy one then I would like to borrow one long enough to make a working copy. I can remember most of the features of the unit but cannot remember the specifics of the detent and method of attaching the control cable to the lever.

I have attached a photo out of a brochure of that era to give an idea of what I am looking for. Control was about 9 inches long x 4 inches high and side were 1/4 plate. All aluminum.

As many of these units as were sold and used I cannot believe one doesn't exist somewhere. Hope there is some fellow "old timers" on here who also remember. Appreciate the help.

Thanks, Bruce V.
