Found this in some old files. John McCall gave it to me when I picked up a new SJ boat in Sarasota in 1974. A few photos, price list, speed records set by McCall boats from 1966 thru 1974, high point and National Champions same years, some familar names on there.Tried to post them but it says files are too large and I'm too computer dumb to know how to change them. If they would be of any interest here I could maybe scan and e-mail to member that knows how to resize and post them.

Did any of the McCalls make it thru the race circuit! I do not recall seeing any even at the Mt dora boat show!

Mine did but after 6 seasons of racing I let it get away from me. I don't know what became of it after that. An obselete race boat that you don't have room to keep seems pretty useless at the time. Now I would sure like to make a few more laps in that boat while I can still get in to a kneeldown rig.

Found a photo of our SJ boat before we picked it up,also has a beautiful young lady on the deck, that was one of John's trademarks,I think he did this with all his new boats,as I recall his wife had several friends that looked great in such photos. He used our boat on his 1974 Christmas card, I tried to post it but it said too large and I don't know how to resize. I'll email it to someone to try it if I have an email address.Robert

That photo is 30 years old. I know where the boat is,in a million pieces in the bottom of the river in St Louis when we hit a log during an APBA race, but I always wondered where she is now,I bet she still looks great.

Looks like Bobby Drewry was John McCall's biggest fan, with OLEGATOR right up there, too! :)

Was the footnote in red on the last page on the original from John McCall?
Here is a picture taken during the 1 hour race at Key West the footnote refers to. Note the flat attitude due to heavy gas load early inthe race, Wish Mary Gagen had taken one near the end when the boat was realy flying.

That note in red was John's own handwriting. He gave me the packet when we picked up our boat and that record must have been set after the printing so John brought it up to date for me. I underlined the name last night because I wasn't sure how well the red would scan.

Thanks. John sure did build great looking boats. They didn't need the pretty girls to look good. I can tell you that John's nontraditional christsmas cards met mixed revues especially from some of the wives. Which probably is why I don't have any of them left.
I am glad that some of the tracks we left back then have survived in peoples closets and atics. I had never seen that brochure and I am pleased to have been included in the company of such drivers.
Bobby Drewery drove for Paul Angel, who had a Mercury dealership in Virginia. I only raced Bobby once at the 73 Nationals in SE. We split heat wins in the finals with me winning the first and breaking the 5 mile record. My record was short lived as Bobby won the second heat breaking the record again and winning on total time. Bobby was the real deal and Paul was generous to me with setup advice each time I was fortunate enough to be able to pick his brain.
