Would you use this in a non-high performance application?

It is perfectly straight.

With a prop I didn't care much about maybe... I've seen em twisted but never like that without being crooked!

I agree, with BadAction-It always makes thing worse when you have to be towed in after losing a prop and then knowing that it could have all been avoided. Why take the risk? correct it while you can and avoid the hassle.

I have pulled many props to find the splines twisted when doing service. Made the owners put their props back on themselves if not replaced. It might last for years, or minutes...

As Stated^^^
I personally have twisted 3 from running N2o. They've always been straight but twisted. I've ran them even after seeing the twist and never had one break....On the other hand I've snapped one clean off by hitting a stump!
Personally, I WOULDN'T RUN ONE WITH AN EXPENSIVE PROP until it was replaced and also consider that if it let go at a high RPM, it could pass you by way of your boat hull....or somebody else!!

No..it's to easy to swap in a new shaft. Or a good used one.

The hell with losing a prop, where would it go/what or who could it hit after it flies off!?!?!? Losing a prop would suck, injuring or possibly killing someone.......replace it!

Looks like a 'run it till she blows' situation if you don't mind being stranded, losing the prop, and possibly damaging the lower.

Well the best way to know if it is going to be ok is to get is x-rayed.
so just take all the trouble and get the propeller shaft out the gearbox get it examined then buy all new seals and put it back on and be happy you save a small amount of money.
Or just look around for a good used one or bargain new one then fit it with nice new seals and play it safe.

I have seen shafts with twists like this last for over 20 years, but also seen some not this bad break the next time out.

when you do change it, keep that one and use it to make yourself a nice prop holder in the garage.

I have never seen one twist! I am lucky I guess. What causes it?
