A couple weeks ago we got first significant snow in lower SE Michigan. All of 6 inches. 2 days later, I pickup up my sled out of storage and took it home, began cleaning mouse nests out of it. The next day, I started it up, unloaded it from the trailer, and drove it 100 feet to its winter parking spot. Then the snow started melting, now we got nothing.

We used to do the grass runs all the time here. Had big bottles of dishsoap we would pour on the slides. We put connectors on the liquid sleds and had a cooler of ice and a tranny cooler with a pump to cool them. No sled this year:(

Had a slide luber hooked up. just a little windshield washer bottle with washer fluid and soap mix. Really worked good.

We still have no snow on the ground. Got about 2" and its all gone. Hope we get something or the lakes are going to be low this spring.

That big storm went south of us all. Got about 2" here and 6" drifts from the wind. I heard about an old buddy here who has a 4 or so year old Cat....the green 600 triple I like so much. It has a piston blown out in it for the last 2 years and is sitting there waiting for me to go buy it....but I can't this year. Bummer! Better luck next year I guess.

Thats what is in the video. Its my friends sled, one of the two he just purchased. It has everything you can imagine on it and runs over 108 MPH at the radar drags.

Wow, nice ride! I rode a couple hundred mph sleds before, takes great neck muscles don't it? I just like the triples, but like smaller sleds more. They are more fun on the trail. Saw a REV go by here on a trailer the other day....I was drooling. I worked with a guy last winter in Traverse that had a year old 440 Cat racing sled from a dealer, it was bad. I saw him on it but could not ride at the office.

Last time I was on a lake was with an Exciter that ran in the 90s, and hit an ice ridge from a track plowed on the lake WFO. I flew so far I never thought I was coming back down!! It stayed kinda level so I kept tucked in and wot, and hit the ice running and never slowed down. We all checked the tracks, many many many sled lengths of air time. Kinda chilled a little after that with the speed runs. I was all tucked in, and thought I was going to have a handlebar print on my face by the way I smacked them when I landed! I had a full face on, but that was a hard one.

I did the same thing on my 87 Exciter here on Lake Superior maybe.....hmm....10 years ago or so !! My brother and I paced it out after, and I flew about 35 yards  I wasn't very high, but I shure did fly a long ways !!!! Good thing I hit the ice ridge the "right" way, or I'd have been toast !!!
By the way, there's no snow here yet and I'm waiting patiently. Starting to get a little worried too, don't want another winter like last winter

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!!!!!!

Got 6" in lower michigan, I rode 13 miles on Xmas morning after breakfast, did another 10 miles last night, just riding through fields, through people's front yards, across the lake, we had to puddle jump across a patch of open water in the canal, didn't see it coming in the dark, ****, gun it!! No problem. We pulled into the gas station with stalks of corn wrapped around the skis. Pretty funny.

This is a pic looking out at the lake. You can almost imagine my Mirage/2.5 sitting on the boatlift on the beach in front of the sleds .

All of the snowmobile events are being canceled down here. Not one spec of white stuff here. Just riding the quads.

Just got back from the lake north of here. Was warmer yesterday, like 50, then the temp dropped last night to 17 while we hung out at the fire pit! Lit of some fireworks at midnight over the lake, it was great. Maybe 5" of ice there, but only one guy brave enough to go out there today and fish; at the other end where the ice is better. Ice looks patchy and dark then light. I went about 20' out for about 50 yards with the golf cart so I could get sideways some....after about 6 passes I could here it cracking and see cracks. It is only 2-3' deep water in that spot anyway. No snow at all there, but the driveways in the trees were all ice and I had the cart going every which way on the ice.:D So much fun I ran out of gas and had to go get some! That means I went through a whole 12 gallons(two tanks) all year.....about an afternoons worth in the old 1500 Merc! I wish I could have went wizzing around the lake....might have to go up later and do that just to mess with people:) ;) Is a kinda cold ride on that thing though!

Well....here is a secret;)

January is the best time to shop for gas golfcarts price-wise.... :D :D :D Works good until you get over 6" of snow, then you have to road-ride:cool: By then it gets pretty cold too.

Sweet cart!!

Thanks! Had it out on the lake today too!!:D  Ice was iffy, so I went to a shallow spot and got in some good powerslides atleast. I hope I get back when the ice is good so I can play some mind games with others on the lake when I go flying by on a golfcart:D :D Might need some weight in the back for traction though, just kept spinning with all that 11hp! Was kinda glad it does not go very fast today at 25 degrees there.

I guess you gotta have a place to use it, but I have to admit that cart is one of the most trouble free, fun, useful, cheap, and coolest toys I have ever had.

Trails are open, but $170.00 for a trail permit is out of control. We have plenty of feilds, lakes and gravel pits to fly around in the area.
