Lake's looking great from what I hear so the race is on! I'm trying like heck to get mine ready but a last minute shift in motors pushed me back a week so it's going to be tight. I still need to do some rigging on the boat too. I'm planning on leaving around 5:00 am on Friday in order to get down there around 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon.

Me and Sam Schultz are gonna be rigging the Polecat at his house on thursday, then were coming down friday morning, should be in by noon or so. Sam went and picked it up from Rick last sunday, saved me a ton of miles. Rick will be in early Saturday morning, his daughter graduates on friday night. Talked to Joe this morning and he'll be in friday afternoon. I know that Thurl and Kevin are coming. Hope the weather holds. Looking forward to seeing everyone. There should be a pile of really good outboards.

Joe's OK. Boat looks OK too from first reports. Only visible problem was a crack in the deck. Don't know about the supports/bulkheads/transom, etc.

Ron Morton won Modified Eliminator - it's getting a little ridiculous with him winning everything.

Spoke to Brent Shaw. He made it to the Semi's in Mod Elim with his 260/Pugh Hydro. Morton got him at the light and Brent broke out with a 9.7.

57 boats which isn't a bad turnout considering the race was iffy for a bit there.

I heard Rick's good drag motor got hurt on Thursday so he was dialing in a backup. He was running pretty well, but I don't know what he ran - I'm sure he'll check in in the next day or two. Joe ran a 9.20 something I think at about 119 MPH to qualify without NOS. That's the fastest non-hydro, non-NOS pass I've ever heard of.
