They change them to a 12cyl 4 stroke basically. V6 2 stroke. You can call them direct. It was around $40 last time I did one. I think they are in Sycamore IL , you'll have to Google them.

Naw, he's a liar.:D

Hey Rick,
I looked on Summit and Jegs and I didn't see an indash Autometer 11K tack. Any specific one you are talking about?

steve

jegs.com and punch in 11,000 tach. You will be able to choose. The faces are 5" I think. They will dash mount in a slightly smaller hole. Plan on around $200 or more for sure. ;)

In dash or pedastal mount? 3-3/8" or 5"? Mine is a 5"...here's the black version...10k only though: http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=2767&sid=9

I called Autometer today and the tech dept told me they wont be able to convert the newer tachs with the 2 buttons on the face. This is getting old.
Guess I'll just keep using the ole merc tach 4 now.

That's BS:

Call Rex Marine and ask Mike if he can get you that tach set properly. http://www.rexmar.com

 What was the girls name that you talked too?
They can make ANY of their tachs work for a V6 2 stroke. ANY of them!
Order the 11K tach from Jegs, send it to them with a note and they will do I guaranteed. All it is on there is a resistor pinout change. Guess I need to start doing electronics again.:D Tell them everyone said ......DUH !!! Heck they can build it for a 36cylinder 2 stroke if they want to!

I don't know what his name was but it was the tech line. I'll call Rex on monday. I'd like to get this thing together for BBSP this year.

Well I called Rem Marine today and asked for Mike. He wasn't in and the other guy told me they didn't have one for an outboard with a recall. What a frikkin deal.

Steve, I lost your phone number. PM it to me will ya. TIA

What color face and bezel are you looking for? Pedastal mount or in dash? What size (3-3/8 or 5")?

OK, so you want a Pro Comp gauge. Black face, silver bezel. The 3-3/4" in-dash units do not have the recall buttons on the face. The 5161 looks like this:

http://www.autometer.com/img/products/5161_d.jpg

Now, you may be able to use this Summit part to add Recall to that: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D800100&N=700+0&autoview=sku

The 5" tachs are where you get into enough space to have the recall button on the face, as the one I posted above.

However, Autometer does make this 14k tach which matches what you want color wise, and is still 3-3/4" diameter. It's out of their motorcycle line #19236:

The Auto Meter 11k tach wont work with a merc v-6 out of the box? The auto meter that was in the hydro broke the needle, lmao.... too much nitrous!!!! (actually, I slung the prop and over revved the hell out of it)

Couldn't find one that would mount in the 3 3/8 hole and I don't want to mess the dash up so I bought this

to work with my 10k merc tach.
Thanks for everyones help.

I'm looking for a small one to use on my laydown drag machine, does anyone know if the digital tachs will work with a V6 2 stroke?

This one is a Stewart Warner but Autometer also makes a 2 1/16" digital with a shift light.

Thanks!
