I am going to guess that it is not an F1 V8 but just a plain 1985 XP 3.6. People tend to read more into the XP rating. If you actually had an F1 it would be a 3.5 and would not work very well on a boat of your size.

See if this link works for the 1985 brochure.

Thank you for the information , and what a find that you have helped me with ! My motor is definatly the performance charged on page 1 1st picture . What would a motor like this be worth ? Is there any blocks available ? What else can you tell me ?

The 1985 was the first year of the V8. If you read the rest of the pages of the brochure it gives you some background. It seams you either love them or you hate them. I like my 4.0 V8. Here is the V8 thread.

I think Big V8 Johnson has the white version. Complete with the windo. He did some research before he crossed over and maybe he can help you. Good luck

That could be one of the world's worst welding jobs. If you do get your moto fixed you might want to address that skeg issue.

You know I didn't notice that weld until the pics on here !? Like I said I can't get any information on the man that use to own this boat ..A buddy found this boat in a car auction and bought it from him the day I sough it show up at his yard !

It use to be gray everywere that you see the red now and had a big name on the side of it called " HIGH VOLTAGE " But it was oxidized real bad , and the interior was strashed with the threading all rotted out plywood included . So I figured I would get everything else up to par before the motor work begain .

Trying to get use to this sight and how it works yet , Thanks to all that have responded , and HAPPY NEW YEAR !

I agree! The faster you go, the more critical skeg shape is. And I'm here to tell ya. If it's wrong, it can really make a fast boat drive goofy!

Best of luck to ya on the mota. :)
