If it is a bracket boat and $'s are a concern why not just put a stock 2.5 carb motor on it. Put some decent pistons in it and let it go. the 2.5 200 should have some decent torque. either one should run good on that boat. Call Gary Pugh in Knoxville he could give you a good idea of what to expect.

Bob

Steve Smith ran a 2.4 on his hydro and it ran very well, Jim Dunn runs in the 8's if he want to with a drag. Do you already have the boat/motor combo? We have a few races left please come out and join us, Livermore Ky this weekend and several ILL races over the next few weeks. There are several of us on this site that go to 10-12 races a year so we would be glad to help you, myself, Ray Neudecker, Brad Murphy, Sam Baker, Rocket, and many more.

Bob, I ran 9.4's at 119 with a 2.5 drag and a 10 X 17 prop. I was turning right around 9800 or so. Greg, saw the pics in Hot boat magazine. Glad you are ok!!
