Had to update my Adobe .pdf software in this new PC? Go figure!

See Flywheel rule changed.

No more mandatory Diamond Flywheel.

How about that!
Diamond is still a loyal sponsor & has no problem with the change.

I really like that 1250lb spec gas weight in pro fuel! I haven't raced with the ODBA since 03, but I may try and make Jasper this year

1250 and tech gas has been shown to be faster and quicker than 1300 on fuel. ODBA had these same same weights in 2000 and Key Puckett won all but one event using tech gas and Blue Marble oil. Maybe the 2000 season was a fluke but I doubt it. Puckett pounded Mumford, Caldwell, DeWeese and all the other true fuel racers pretty bad. 50 pounds more than covered the difference in power between tech gas and 30% nitro/methanol. Fuel motors also go through parts pretty fast compared to a gas boat. It will be pointless to build and maintain an expensive fuel motor and get hammered by a gas motor with a weight break. Makes no difference to me, either way is fine. Just telling what happened 7 seasons ago when it was done like this.

Chris I am going to bet you 2 Dollars that the fuel boats are faster with the extra 50 lbs. Those guys have come a long way running it with EFI. I could be wrong but if it gets more boats in the class it's a win/win.

Rodney, I would have bet with you on this, but I just had a conversation with everyone's hero ER and the end result is about what 6 came up with.
I too would have thought that Alky and Pop would overcome the 50 lbs.

With rules like that, the only race Puckett lost in 2000 was when he got tossed for charging the start lights @ Thomasville. Other than that, Puckett flat blistered everyones ass.

At Plymouth in 2000, Puckett gunned something like 122+ MPH on tech gas @1250. He consistently ran 10.0 at every event. I dont think Mumford ran that quick at Jasper @1300 on alky last fall and he won. When P/F got changed back to 1250 across the board in 2001/2002/2003, DeWitt was at his very best and popped some 9.8s on 30%. Matthew was real close.

Since fuel boats burn over twice as much fuel as a gas boat, in the first round of, say a 10-12 boat class, the fuel boats will be like 85-90 pounds heavier not just 50. Provided a fuel boat can make it to the final, only then will they be in the 50 pound heavier range.

I got no problem with 2 Pro Gas classes, one at 1350, one at 1250. Cool with me. I just think from what I have seen, thats the way it will end up.

I understand the point is to improve boat count in P/F. There really are not any other ways. I am sure this will have the desired result. It sure is gonna make it tough on the alky burners though.

Ah bottom line is it is the coolest class!. It is for real innovators.
Though, I would have like to have seen Dewitt in his prime against Key!

Both @ 1250, DeWitt usually covered him. At 1250 across the board, Puckett ran better than 10.0 when he blended his gasoline. He is very good at running a gasoline based fuel, very good. Puckett is also one excellent set up man and a damn good driver. When your card and his went up, you better be ready and hold on to your ass cause there was no free lunch.

'02 or '03 I got a real good view of Kevin. He got me by ~3 lengths... It was in an early round. It should be interesting. But I'm gonna have to quit the micro. LOL
