It's a Mirage. River Racer
Rob Harris used to run that boat and Johnny ran a different one but said that this boat ran more consistent. He put his motor on it for this year. I'd like to know what happened, that boat usually runs fairly flat. Must have been a sudden loss of power or the wind. If I hear anything I'll post it. Just glad he's ok, Johnny is a good guy and a strong competitor.

That boat was a '92 Mirage Wildcat, we were staged on the rope next to each other. I ran right before him so I didnt see him go over but there was some wind coming straight down the track so it was a little rough out there. I felt comfortable with my run in my Mod VP Jaguar but my tunnels are alot deeper than the Wildcats. I was glad to hear he was okay!!!!........Brad.

Johnie had five stitches in his right hand. He had just raised the motor height to a level he hadn't tested with and the wind got him. The winds were not consistent and would come in gusts. There were several times where drivers had to get out of the throttle to save the boat during test and tune and off and on the weekend.

I remember that RL dude flying through the air in New Athens, Il., somewhere between 1996 & 1999. Thank goodness he wasn't hurt either.
