As mentioned on some other threads on SnF, Merc Racing opened a new web site this month. What isn't mentioned is the new historical pics. A few of them are formatted big enough to use as wallpaper.

The link : http://www.mercuryracing.com/about/heritage/timeline.php

Maybe Mike Butler can provide us with some slightly larger versions of the smaller pics. Hint, hint, hint ...

Mark75H.....

Thanks for the "heads-up" on the site........B.T.W., that's the first time I've seen Merten's record boat since the run, wonder why they removed the single pipe exhaust system that it ran with and replaced it with a couple of plated pipes from a 1350? Maybe they thought it would look more menacing.

Bill:

The pipes are just for show. The photo is in front of my hanger. Jim Jr. was kind enough to let me store it so they don't have to keep it in there attic at the shop. We have talked a little about taking it to Clayton this year.

Sam: I have the original photos of the old shots that are posted on the web site including the shot of the wing boat you have posted. Bill, I'm sure, rembers it from Parker. In Fact I think I have a shot of him running it and it is 5 ft off the water with him waving to the crowd.>>>>>>>>Remember Bill?:) :)

Mike, is that a "live" engine on the Jones, i.e. will it be able to run if it goes to Clayton?

No, I don't remember :( .....would sure like to see the pic.
