Does this literature have parts diagrams?

I would be willing to "cough" up a few bucks for a copy?? I am sure the original is too expensive.

Mark,
That book does have part diagrams. I've got one of those books, it's just not as pretty (oil stains, notes, etc.) but everything is easy to see and read.
Not much good for anything every part I have tried to get is NLA. It is about 25 pages if you want I can photocopy it and send you a copy, just e-mail me your address (to Cytoman1@aol.com). I paid $20 about 3-4 years ago.

Inline,
Could you post a pic of your strangler? Is it the one with the 8 1-bbl diaphram carbs or does it have the 4 2-bbl cards like a CCC setup ( I think that might be a super strangler I'm not sure). I spent quite a while trying to track one of those v-4's down a while ago. I finally wound up with a number for a guy who had one that was disconnected so I gave up.

The one I have is a copy but does have a parts break down. Some of the dyno sheets of these motors show 260 plus horsepower. I would say that is pretty impressive for a 2.4 carb motor from the seventies. But that is just my opinion.

I'm putting a CCC front half on a 2.6. I can't even get the gaskets for the intakes. The reed cages are completely different also. This project is taking a long time. And of course to make it really difficult I want to have a shifting lower end. If I can ever get it together I figure it'll take another 2 years to tune it right! It took me 2 years to find the first CCC then 4 weeks later I found a 2nd. (powerheads only).

You wish :) ... the correct name of the 3 cyl Johnson Mod 50 is SR, it got reversed on some decals. The Johnson V-6 was the real RS

Here's the 3 cylinder parts list/owner's manual

My that and your this are both mod 50's ... Someone at Second Effort messed up on the Johnson mod 50 decals :) or maybe forgot to have the Johnson decals made at all and made them up by hand from the V-6 decals. I wish I knew the story behind the mix up :)

I would love to have a copy of your manual as all I have is the specs which I got from the factory here in Aus when they were still going as OMC.
My CCC has returned to the water after a long spell following a barrel roll (tore the bottom off the left hand sponson at the end of the straight, man the boat turns tight with that much drag on one side).
Just tell me how much with postage to Newcastle in Australia and I'll send the money over.

Fast Fred, are you saying the motor on the left you posted with the Johnson cowling is a mod 50? I am confused by your post.

Fast Fred

There's also a considerable visual difference in the size/profile of the gearcases between the 2.
