he might have seen one of them super sport guys with the omc v4 & a merc cowl with omerc on it

No V4 production motor, but they did make some prototype engines before OMC released thiers in 58. Just the thought of a V4 merc makes my blood curdle.

Yes in the 1980's 2 cyl.s cut of a V 6 ran at company meeting ran again in the 1990's, Lloyd's Marine.

I have heard of 3 cylinders out of a V-6, but not 2. Are you sure, Lloyd?
